The Red Sox are moving right-hander Alex Wilson to the bullpen for Triple-A Pawtucket in hopes of preparing him for a transition meant to reinforce the major league club's beleaguered relief staff. Wilson, 25, was 1-0 with a 5.27 ERA in three starts for the PawSox this year with 16 strikeouts and four walks in 13 1/3 innings. In 2011, he won the organization's Pitcher of the Year honors after going 10-4 with a 3.11 ERA in Double-A and Triple-A.
